Bachelor of ayurvedic medicine and surgery is an undergraduate course. Students who are interested in ayurveda and ayurvedic medicine pursue this course. Course Duration

BAMS course is of 5.5 years out of which 1 year is for internship.

Students must be NEET qualified and have cleared class 12th with an aggregate of a minimum of 50% marks in PCM.

Before opening their own clinic, a student should ideally spend at least one to two years working with veteran practitioners. After gaining the necessary knowledge, a student can choose between ordinary practice and specialized practice, such as the treatment of spinal disorders, skin diseases, ophthalmologic problems, anorectal diseases, etc., where Ayurveda has a unique place in modern medicine.

Drug Manufacturing

BAMS graduates can make a fruitful career in drug manufacturing. Apart from manufacturing ayurvedic medicines BAMS graduates can indulge themselves in cultivating medical plants and can trade them in the form of oils, extract, powder, etc. They can also start an ayurvedic cosmetic range and food products.

Management and Administration

Students who are interested in the medical industry but are not interested in practicing clinical practice then they can further pursue higher studies in management and administration such as a master’s in sports medicine, personnel management, health administration, public health, etc.

BAMS graduates interested to make a career in academics should complete their post-graduation, MD with a specialization that will make them eligible to further pursue a Ph.D.
